What the hell happened to everybody? I have been on HT and HS for the last few days and it seems like the action is way down from a few years ago. Are the teenagers spending their $ at the holister store instead of buying car parts? The teapartyers are right, the world is falling apart!

under8d, completely unnecessary.

and yeah, the honda scene has slowed down a lot the past couple of years. the fanboy movement went to 240's and is going toward miatas now.
theres not much new to be done to hondas, everything has been done and all the information is already there.

so, since the fanboys have moved on, this leaves actual honda lovers, or jsut us non honda people who love the site.

Miatas? WTF! I can't go there! I Guess I'll just have to hang out with you all while I figure out what to do with this EP. MIATAS? F*** me, the world is going to shit. Thanks for the explanation.

hey, miatas are great handling cars. i considered getting one til i realized that the fanboys are there now. prices for a shitty little early model miata has almost doubles because the are now MaD TYte JDM Y0 with all american parts.
fucking idiots.

so, now im back to looking for a nice play platform thats not fwd.

Honda tuning actually did an article/rant on this loyalty drop-off. It sucks that so many people's new focus is the SR20DET instead of the potential of the K-series. Sometimes I think that if we were "blessed" with another Fast and the Furious movie that had a variety of rides, we might reclaim our some support and introduce a new generation. Tokyo Drift made so many kids run to mommy and daddy screaming they wanted a turbo charged Nissan, Toyota, or Subaru so they could go sideways like in the movies! Don't get me wrong, I have respect and admiration for a lot of cars that aren't a product of Honda. But true Honda lovers will always come back, and most will never leave. On a positive note, there's been a decline in "vtech, vtek, vteck", how do I wire vtec, can I use by d series tranny with my new b series motor, and my favorite "i just got a cold air intake, how fast will my car go and how much horsepower do I have now?" lol

Anyways, anybody who's reading this thread, thank-you for not being a trend chaser! We need more like you!

to a tuner, the new models basically suck. Which means, there's nothing made by honda in the past 10 years that anyone is really interested in dumping money into. Those who have the money have simply moved on to better platforms... evos/stis/bmws/240s/ etc etc

Hell, a lot of us that still come here don't even own hondas anymore, myself included.

The cr-z COULD have changed all this, but no, honda failed again.

On top of all that, the car scene in general isn't what it was 10 years ago either. All aspects.
Car audio is in the can.
you hardly ever hear a system any more around here.
When i was 18 EVERYONE had at least 1 10" in the trunk... most had 2 12's and some had crazy bumps y0!

I still have a Honda and drive it every day but my hobbies have switched. Kids are spendy, and with kids comes booze. Which is also spendy because I dont drink the cheap shit.

Bought a Mazda....

I'm just here for the tits....lol

And undr8d, that was the best laugh I've had in a while, Thank you.

Maybe cause there have been no new fast&furious moviesa out yet?

There has been a big fall off. I would love to get another CRX one day. It seems like everyone I have seen for sale is beat, a project that someone can't finish, a rust bucket, stolen or recovered, etc. Also the prices are outrageous for what you are getting.
The new Civic SI doesn't have the allure that the 99-00 SI did.
My GF has a 2008 Civic EXL while it is a nice car I would not like it for a daily. I don't know if I don't like driving it as much since I have not had a fwd car since I sold my Civic in 2006 and the fact that its automatic.
If I were looking for a car right now it would be a Mustang. RWD and the v6 puts out over 300hp.

yeah, the biggest issue is a combination of what B and Jeef said.
honda has no newer cars worth a shit. and the old ones have all been raped and ghetto rigged to a point that its not worth touching. and the people selling them think that since they spent 500000000 hours and make claims of all the "built" parts in it, that they are worth 10X the actual value.

i agree that honda has not made anything sweet in the past 10 years except for the k motors. But it will come back eventually and i love honda, i love the honda haters, i love the fact you can get 800hp out of a gsr motor and whoop on v8s! You will always have your true honda lovers and you will have the people who jump on board with whats in cuz there lame!

although the new cr-z is pretty sweet kinda reminds me of the crx

Realistically most stock v8 you are looking anywhere from 200-350hp over the years. Most v8 cars or trucks are heavier than your Honda, so I would hope that with 800 hp your car could whoop a v8.

there is a pretty decent honda following in certain areas... but it has shrunk a lot over the years. from what i have seen lately, the people that are still in the honda scene.... are either young guys that can only afford to piece together old civics for daily driving, or the serious race guys that are building truly fast cars.

im going to a big NSCRA event this weekend, there is also a large local honda car meet taking place there. ill take some pictures to show you guys what the south fl honda scene is looking like.

Honda/Acuras are still very popular around here as well.. enough that you really gotta worry about your car disappearing

i guess i missed the bus then, i have only recently discovered forums and the vast amount of knolledge and loyallty you all seem to have ;)

Imo though this is no new trend, 65-72 for the muscle and the 90's for tuners. :( most of the platforms are still there but nothing compared to thier former glory

I myself have always been loyal to hondas since i got my first one at 9 (XL 70 dirtbike) and always will be
