breaking down my main rig. built it for games, but i never play anymore and i just dont need power of this machine.

first, a pic of CPUz showing the capability of these. I had everything clocked to 4.1GHz Prime/Linx stable. I never really got the hang of i7 overclocking so im sure a more talented individual can crank it further. this was all under water cooling. this rig ran at these clocks for the better part of 3 years without a single problem.

Watercooling:

all components have been used in my rig for approx the last 3 years. parts were cleaned annually and no kind of die was ever used in my loop. only used distilled water and a touch of PT-nuke. as with any used WC parts, id recommend disassembly (where possible) and thorough cleaning before use.

-the 320 is an older model without the "swiftech" pressed into the side like the 220 has. cosmetic difference.

-seemed to delay in starting, or required a reboot/power cycle, if not powered on for a while, otherwise i havent had any issues with it.

Wish I had the cash, I want this ramzors, and the ps :( Good luck with the sale, even though the parts are old (in computer lifecycle terms) they are bad ass, pretty much my exact set up, except the video card and water cooling.
 
yeah its unfortunate that 1366 didnt catch on. i was hoping it would. oh well. its still a nice platform.

the PSUs never seem to get old either. so at least thats good. still more than capable of handling anyhitng modern.
 
Sweet computer rig stuff. I still want to build a decent desktop platform someday. Not super fast but fast enough to run Minecraft at full bore lol :p. How much would $500 buy me?
 
Very nice gear! The stuff I would want I pretty much have... even down to the same size/brand (radiators, power supply) or would be incompatible (water blocks). :(
 
So I did some digging, both online and in my parts bin- I needed a specific one-bay reservoir, not the water block. I already have the Apogee HD which is supposed to be the successor to the XT rev 2. Oh well... otherwise I would've gotten yours. :)

personally, i think a reservoir is more trouble than its worth. you arent going to add an appreciable amount of volume to really affect temps. i like the simplicity of a T-line. reservoir will be easier to bleed though. side note, i was surprised how little water there was in my loop when i drained it. i drained it all into a bowl and spilled almost none of it. maybe a pint of water or less. thats it.

this is what my T-line setup looked like. though i really used a Y fitting because it looked nicer.

although, the pump/reservoir combos are REALLY nice. i wanted one of those koolance setups for a while, but couldnt justify the cost. 2x D5 pumps with reservoir all packaged in a nice 2-bay package is really appealing. you could even make it single or dual loop.

Oh ok. The reservoir is simplicity for me- no need to worry about bleeding lines. I don't use it for water capacity increase because it doesn't really make a difference- if your radiator can't get rid of the heat fast enough, more volume isn't going to help. The last time I bothered with a T-line setup was back in 1999 I think... there are good off-the-shelf parts now that make DYI computer water cooling a bit easier. I have a monster 2-bay reservoir right now, but the case I'm moving my system into has fewer bays, so I need to downsize.

The Koolance cases are nice (had one of the originals), but way too expensive for what they offer. Actually, I still have my old Koolance full tower with the radiator and the upper cooling stack intact if anyone wants it. The water block is a little tarnished inside from the coolant I was using and the pump is dead/gone, but the case is still pretty sweet.
