Yes. Very spicy. You don't expect it because it's cold. One or two bites and you're fine, keep eating and it gets hot very fast lol.

Problem with pho is unless you go to a highly dense Viet area, you'll just get a high dollar bowl of soup with not a lot of content.
When I get pho it's loaded with tons of goodies. If I buy pho around here... lol yeah, nothing special.

Linh bought the box of fruit, no idea how much it was.

I like my pho pretty basic- just the thin sliced meat and noodles with some onions and green and good broth. Just extremely high quantities of noodles and meat. :D

Doesn't matter how few or how many as long as they stock it. If you ask for just noodles and only sliced meat and you get tons or noodles and 2oz of meat it's like wtf.

No tripe or tendon?

Nah. I'm too Americanized- grew up here. Can't do the "trash can" pho. Around here you get about a quarter pound or more of beef and enough noodles to fill a 12" wide bowl without any broth at all. It's a feast for $7. Everything's bigger in Texas.
:D

Trash can is the best place to find the good parts.

If in Houston then pho should rock. Too many viet people to bitch about it sucking if not. Around here their target is white people so the price is high and the food is low.

Speaking of weird stuff. While trying the Thai variety of pho, I tried the blood clot soup. I couldn't even imagine what it would be like, but it was really good. Has the consistency of soft tofu

Finally remembered to ask Linh about price. She said $13 for the case.

Dallas area has some good pockets too- but Houston is universally better. :)
