I don't understand how even 40-50 lines of code could be overlooked
Wow interesting that he chuckles about it... And WTF would he create this software in the first place This is a great "stunt" and personnaly I believe it is simply a drastic attempt to flip democratic party in the lime light of honesty and integrity. Cause we all know that Clinton was full of honesty/integrity. "I didnt have a sexual affair with Lewinksy ring a bell" This is the guy who supposidly created this software and is proud to exploit it? im calling it crooked and an extreme attempt to bash on the republican party...Are there computer programs that can be used to secretly fix elections?
Yes.
How do you know that to be the case?
Because in October of 2000, I wrote a prototype for Congressman Tom Feeney [R-FL]...
It would rig an election?
It would flip the vote, 51-49. Whoever you wanted it to go to and whichever race you wanted to win.
Rockstar trusts it's programmers. They don't have to proof their work.
The voting machines are bunk. Also, I want you all to find out who voted for video / computerized voting terminals in the first place.
(Hint: They don't like Bush)
Then where am teh argument ?
i too sense faked... from the silly courtroom procedure to the fact that nearly identicle stories appear in tabloid-style web forums and sites.. and never once through any of the mainstream media outlets that would love a story such as this if it were true...
Once more it all comes down to Republicans vs Democrats. A perfect opportunity to voice my hatred of the party system.. George Washington warned the nation about this very thing in his farewell speech... The 'parties' were just forming and he saw them for what they are... A means to help a select group of people over that of another. He said that they could tear the nation in two, that they were a threat to the very existance of the country.
I want to abolish every political party. Make every elected official just that, an elected official. No party, no 'sides', no bias, just people working for what's best for the people they represent, and for their nation.
Just the way it was meant to be.
Soooo true. Republican loving company + easy, untracable updating via removable media + closed source = Byebye Representative Repbulic. And people thought that their vote didn't matter when using paper...The argument is that rigging an election via systems that are both shrouded in an unbelievable level of secrecy AND able to be hacked by a person with the lowest level of skill (WHO THE FUCK BACKENDS A SYSTEM LIKE THAT IN MICROSOFT ACCESS?!?!?!?!) is not only possible, but easy on a level that is simply mind croggling.
It's no secret that Diebold and the Right are jerking each other off at every possible chance and it's definitely not a secret that their machines (both voting and ATM, do not ask how I know this, I will not reply) are easily compromised without so much as a trace of evidence.
With no paper trail, it's plausible that this could have happened. The fact that someone came forth about this makes it even more so.
You can go ahead and file this under Conspiracy Theories (as you do with anything anti-Bush) but you also have to put it under another category: Easy to do.

The worst part about this software being completely closed is that it is so easy for one person to slip malicious code into a large project like this. At most anyone persons portion is reviewed by 3-4 managers that have to read code from many other low level engineers like him. After sitting through several, I will tell you that code reviews for closed projects are unlikely to discover anything. They certainly don't put the software through the level of scrutiny that an Open Source project goes through.
