Hey guys! This will be my first engine swap.
Right now I have a 98 Civic DX. I'm wanting to swap in a B18B engine/tranny.
I found (what I think is) a good deal online. It's a b18b complete change over for $ 2,200. It comes with:
- Motor
- Hydraulic Tranny (Y80, S80)
- ECU (P75)
- Axles
- Shift Linkage
- Stock Motor Mounts
- Alternator
- Starter
- Clutch
- Flywheel
- Intake Manifold
- Exhaust Manifold
- Fuel Rail
- Injectors
- Distributor
- Engine Harness
- Comes With All Sensors Needed
Now, what I'm planning on doing is leaving the D-series in the car for a while while I build up the B-series. I want to keep it N/A because this will be my DD for a while. But this is an idea of what I want to do to the B-series. The normal Intake, Header, Exhaust, Cams. Then I would like to get new valves, springs, have it sleeved, ported/polished, bored out.
Should I go w/ a different engine like a B16?
Here is my 1st question. How does that set-up sound? What else would you suggest and about how much HP would it be making?
2nd question: Will I need to buy anything else with the engine that isn't included in the list that it comes with?
3rd question: Will I need to upgrade anything? I'm sure I should upgrade the clutch, but anything else such as injectors, fuel rail, fuel pump, mounts ect?
4th question: Should I get it tuned after it is installed?
I will be building the engine myself, but I will NOT be installing it sence this is my only car right now and I can't be without a car for long. I figured a shop could get this done pretty quick.
