A stabbing needs to take place here.
Keanu Reeves and best actor? Give me a fucking break. Point Break was one of my favorite movies growing up, but it was not due to Reeve's supreme acting abilities.
We watched "The Prestige" for our Sunday movie night and thought it was a slow movie and wasn't that great at the beginning. About 2/3rds of the way through the movie, it begins to get really interesting, so much so infact that we're confused about what exactly happened. We read internet synopses and it appears they're confused as well, because they're contradicting and incorrectly explained one event that we had figured out. I felt like the audience should have been given more clues as to what happened at the end, perhaps running through the movie with the "full story" as a conclusion.
For friday's movie night we watched "The Departed". Pretty good movie, lots of plot twists, the ending was weak.
The other week we watched "Lucky Number Slevin" with no expectations of the movie, since none of us had heard of it before. Let me tell you, this movie was AWESOME.
Jason Harnett and Bruce Willis did an amazing job, playing their roles. Definitely went on the list of my all-time favorite movies <along with American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, Goodfellas, Patch Adams, V for Vendetta, etc.>, if it didn't become my single favorite movie ever.
V for Vendetta was another good one.
