yea but how old are youmy stereo system is WAY louder then that and i still have perfect hearing
im still trying to decide if i want earplugs or not.
hmm i wonder if its even legal in florida. i know its illegal to drive with earphones on.
25 next monthyea but how old are you
yup in about a year you will notice what big speakers do lol, well i did anyhow25 next month
get em, you'll regret it. I'm 22 and i can already tell my hearing is worse than it used to be because of my stereo. Anything else that i do with loud noise, i use earplugs, so it must be the stereo. I am to the point now that it i turn the volume up it actually causes pain in my ear, and its not even at a very loud volume. As soon as i can afford some good components for sound quality, i'm probably gonna ditch the big sub altogether.my stereo system is WAY louder then that and i still have perfect hearing

How'd you like Billy Talent? I saw them open for Rise Against on halloween. I hadn't even heard of them, but they were awesome.Concerts are killer. I went to a Billy Talent concert last week, like 300 people tops, and well it was a tiny room with big speakers. I just now am not hearing the "ringing" that kept me awake while I was sick.
I think I'm going to use some ear plugs from now on when I ride. I know I need to more often at work(powertools) and I'm tending to wear muffs but its just hard to not look goofy in them.
The prevalence of noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) in current motorcycle grand prix racers was investigated. A total of 44 riders was randomly recruited and underwent interview, otological examination and pure tone audiometry. The median age was 28 (range 18-37) years and median racing experience was 10 (range 2-21) years. Twenty riders (45%) had hearing losses greater than expected for age matched controls. Not surprisingly this hearing deficit tended to increase with racing experience (r = 0.5, t = 2.51, 19 d.f., P < 0.05). Only 17 riders (39%) were regular users of earplugs and only nine had used them for most of their racing careers. There is a need to raise awareness to this problem and increase the use of earplugs to avoid NIHL in grand prix motorcyclists.
That's the stupidest thing I've heard - it doesn't mean jack shit. My buddy sat in a van that burps 160db - does he have hearing loss that you know of but he doesn't? Could there have been some measureable difference before and after? Perhaps. But he doesn't seem to have any problems - he can still hear higher than me and he's been listening to loud stereos for much longer. Granted, he's not a dumbass either because he knew that if he was going to blast his system to and from work everyday he'd wear earplugs.Bottom line, if you put yourself in a loud room with sounds that are over X many DB YOU WILL HAVE HEARING LOSS I don't care who you are or how old you are.
