I think he was more or less just trying to protect the property as a whole. Doubt he had any idea they were there to try to steal the PS3 until afterwards.

But that's why when I buy new shit, I keep my boxes.

I keep my boxes for 1-2 years and then toss em, and always in a different dumpster.

I'm not quite that paranoid... I don't really forsee anyone going through my two 96 gallon bins anyway.

I keep my boxes for that reason, and incase I want to trade it in or try to sell it later on.

Well, I've got the standard one dumpster per 3-4 houses in the back alley. And poor people wander the alleys and dig out the cans and whatever happens to look valueable to them at the time. So, I'm not being paranoid, Just being careful. No sense in giving them any opportunities to steal my identitiy / mess with my personal info. They offer a great service. I toss a junk lawn mower in the alley, its gone that night.. dead fridge removal? no problem, just toss it in the alley and it dissapears almost instantly. Hell, I even had some rednecks "steal" an opel GT motor and transmission from my alley. I was trying to figure out how to get rid of it.. so I tossed it in the alley and some rednecks pulled up with a flat bed, grabed it, and hauled ass like they had just robbed a bank.
