EF hatch D16Z6 start-up. no fuel, no Spark

it started now, only some small things left. So, I'm an idiot. I missed a ground somewhere on my harness and the ecu and main relay weren't grounded to the chassis. So it kinda was the main relay so to speak. ha Fixed that and it fired right up. I about shit a brick... I got the harness...

HELP!! Car won't start, not getting spark...

Negative rep? WTF? ha ha, I was on my cell phone. I didn't see the date. Thanks for the negative rep. It's not as if it were bad advice.

HELP!! Car won't start, not getting spark...

if it runs it's PROBABLY not 180 off, though I've had V8s start 180 off. The dizzy can be 180 off from the cam, so that's not always fail-proof. Take out your #1 plug, on your far right if you're standing in front of your car. turn the motor over by hand(a socket on the crank pully bolt...

EF hatch D16Z6 start-up. no fuel, no Spark

So, I pu a D16Z6 in my 91 hatch, I have an OBD1 Ecu, home-made jumper harness. I'm not hearing the fuel pump kick on and I'm getting no Spark when I crank. What I know: I checked power to the distributor, I have 12volts on the Two wire plug. The fuel pump worked before I removed the...

    D16z6 obd0?

Yeah, that would be faster... I'm in no hurry to get this 91 si hatch running. I went lookin for a new hood for my rex and came home with the 91 w/o a motor for $300. a local guy wrecked his 95 ex and sold me the D16Z6 and tranny for $200 (So I didn't need an OBD1 dizzy) got an si cable...

    D16z6 obd0?

So, the car I heard of that was running a pr3 on a D16z6 had one of those hard as shit to find OBD1 PR3's. I started looking at the code in the computer that controls the distributor, hell no. That would take me a week to write a new code in the obd0 computer to control the obd1 distributor...

    90 crx sir

If the tach isn't working, then the ecu most likely isn't getting an RPM signal, and won't ever think you've reached your vtec cross-over RPM. So it won't engage with out fixing the speed sensor problem first.

    D16z6 obd0?

I'm told it will. With an adapter plug or swapping the plug on either the car or the distributor and swapping the tdc sensor polarity... Guess I'll let ya know when I try it. That'll be a week or so until I get a chance to work on it again. Holidays are a bitch...

    D16z6 obd0?

Yeah, I would like to go OBD1 eventually, but this isn't my main project. I'm just trying to get it running quickly for extra transportation. I have the motor, pr3 ecu and everything I need to make it run as obd0. I finally found some better diagrams that showed the polarity of the TDC...

    D16z6 obd0?

I've been told I can back-date an OBD1 distributor to run on an OBD0 ECU. what's involved? do I simply re-pin the connector to fit my wire harness? I have an extra PR3 ecu from my other project, I was going to chip it and run some stock D16Z6 maps and back date the distributor. Should I...

    Obd0 Vtec D-series

Why not?! I'm still new, but why can't I use a PR3 chipped with the SOHC Vtec maps? In theory I don't see why there would be a difference in the distributor... Just the plugs, but could I backdate an OBD1 distributor to OBD0?

    Can't retrieve CEL. Won't rev over 3000

Fixed After living on PGMFI.ORG with every free minute of my time... I realized that the horrendous wiring wasn't to blame. It was ugly and is now fixed, but the solid CEL is a hardware issue inside the ECU. So that was right up my ally. I found that the solder job on this "chipped" ecu...

    Can't retrieve CEL. Won't rev over 3000

How can I Test my ECU? So rather than come back with more stupid questions I spent alot of time workin on this bastard and doin more research. I re-pinned all the bad wires that were at the ecu, I tugged on one and realized the idiot didn't have any pins from a wire harness and just jammed...

    obd0 b16 crx 4-1

like he said, no. Not so long as your header combines into pairs and then into a single. Which I doubt. OBD0 requires the O2 sensers to be paired on specificly 2 cylinders... It's 5 am here and which two cylinders escapes me. but that's how the STOCK ecu measures your exhaust gas as...
