    zc-y8

If the block has the oil jet there then yes you do have to pull it out. You can do this by sticking a screwdriver into it and simply prying it out. The y8 head already has an oil jet in it so if you leave the one in the block there it will create too much oil pressure and vtec will not activate.

Help me take my brakes off

Did you try drilling out the head of the screws yet? I would do that and then get the rest of the screw out with some vice grips to unscrew them.

    D16y8 swap in crx

Both of those engins are good swap choices, the dohc zc would be an easier swap since you wouldn't have to wire up vtec and you could stay obd0. With the y8 you can still stay obd0 but you still need to worry about getting the correct fuel maps and activating vtec. I belive there is more...

F20B DOHC VTEC in 90 CRX Si

Place Racing does make mounts for f and h series swaps and so does enjo but both are weld in. It would be cheaper to just get the metal you need and have it welded in. If you want more info on doing a swap like this there is a guy on hondatech that has done it, I belive his screen name is 2point2

F20B DOHC VTEC in 90 CRX Si

The f20b is a good motor but I think it is over priced. It is basicaly a downstroked h22 with a little higher compression. I don't think it would be much lighter then an h22 if at all and it has less torque. Also swaping this motor into your crx means you will have to have custom mounts welded...

y8 belt same as z6 belt?

From what I have been told the z6 and y8 timing belts are not the same. Did you already buy a timing belt for a y8? If you did why not return it or exchange it for the one you need on the z6? Are you planing on using your obd0 distributor? If so then you will have to make a notch for it to fit...

    Best place to buy tires

I got my tires from tires.com about 3 weeks ago. They have good prices and they delivered fast. I would deffinatly say they are worth looking at for buying a new set.

need help modding my single cam vtec

You could swap a larger displacment block in like the d16a6 block. I'm not sure about with the d15 but with the d16 you can get better rods and pistons. If you plan on staying all motor the extra displacment will deffinatly help. Another thing you could do after swaping the block is get some...

    which head is better

both are good heads, but putting the z6 head on will give you a higher compression. I'm sure you already know high compression and boost don't work well together.

Help me take my brakes off

If you aren't gonna change the rotors you should at least get them resurfaced otherwise you are just gonna destroy your new pads very fast.

    Tires...

If you want better grip on the take off you should sell those rims and get something a little smaller. I think 16' rims are the biggest you should go if you want performance, anything bigger is more for style on a civic. As for an actual answer to your question you ssould go with a size that...

Help me take my brakes off

One last suggestion just to be a little safer you might wanna take the car for a couple runs around the block at low speeds first just to make sure everything is working right before you get back out into traffic. You don't wanna get in a situation where you have to slam on the brakes because...

Help me take my brakes off

There are 2 easy ways to compress the caliper piston, you can either use a c clamp and one fo the old pads or run to auto zone and buy a caliper piston compresor for like $8. If you use a c clamp and an old pad just put the pad against the caliper piston and wrap the c clamp so it is around the...

Help me take my brakes off

I just did all the pads and rotors on my crx. Since you already have the car up on jack stands and the wheels off your next step is taking off the brake calipers. To do this just look and you will find 2 bolts that hold it on there. After you unbolt them you can slide the caliper off the rotors...

D16A1 in 4th gen will it work?

ZexCivic you might wanna read the origional post again. He never said an a6 he said a1. The d16a1 is dohc like the dohc zc, many people even call it the usdm zc. The differances are mostly cams and compression.

D16A1 in 4th gen will it work?

I think you should just forget about the d16a1 and get a whole zc.

    crower cam

If you got a cam made for that engin it will fit. The only thing that should really be different about it's size is the cam lobes. Did you get the valve springs too? If not it would be a wise choice.

    which motor

I think if you really want the b18c then just keep saving till you can get it. You should always go for what you want even if it means having to wait a little longer, never settle for second best. The b16 and b18b are both good motors too but the b18c is deffinatly worth the wait in my book...

    89 Integra d16

I belive that teg came with the d16a1 which is dohc, the only d series heads with vtec are sohc and will not bolt up. Almost everyone here is gonna tell you to go for the b16 anyway because it has more power to start with, and it's very easy to find parts for. Dohc enging are better for tuning...
