Curious about the B16 and Manifold

LOL>Is there no end in sight to what people will do out of pure stupidity to gain hp? Ughh, the factory isn't stupid guys. What a sad world we live in where people use PVC pipe intakes, put a coke can with rocks in it on their muffler tip, and roll around with 2F2F steering wheel covers...

Curious about the B16 and Manifold

Damn bolt patterns <_< . Just something I was thinking about. That's interesting about the people disengaging the IAB, you'd think it would only help in the long run. This sounds similar to a person using only the VTEC lobe of their cam, wierd. Thanks for the info again!

Curious about the B16 and Manifold

Looking over my Honda Builder's Handbook and was reading up on the Dual-Stage intake manifold for the GSR engine. I've known that it has this dual manifold but it got me thinking. Is it possible to wire up and use a GSR manifold on a B16? The low-rpm butterfly valves would allow great torque by...

    d16 head transplant

:withstupid: IMO the B16's are overrated, yes, all hail the DOHC VTEC :worthy: lame. Mini-me swaps are really cheap and easy to do but like they say: "there's no replacement for displacement", nothing beats the low end torque on the B18's.

    d15 vtec

Yes, you can put the D16 Vtec head on the D15B non-vtec block (refered to as a "mini-me" swap). The block has to be from a 16-valve engine though. The only thing you need to do to the block is remove the oil jet in the middle of the block to allow oil pressure to get to the head for VTEC...

    CHIPS

Don't get the Ebay chips! I bought one for my hatch and it turns out the guy gave me the wrong program. Had the chip installed and started the engine up...well after many attempts. My car IDLED at 3000rpm just to stay alive and spued so much fuel it was spitting out my exhaust. If you're going...

What to do with a 92 DX Hatch?

both should run fine even on the shitty Cali gas. I've had burrito inspired farts with higher octane ratings than this gas at the pumps right now.... :moon: BAHHHPTPTPTPTPTPTP!

What to do with a 92 DX Hatch?

Hmmmmm. The cheaper route would be to go mini-me on her. It would probably cost about the $200 for that head, and other misc. parts would be around another $200, and using the good ol' "D-series Compression Calculator" you should have around a 10.105:1 compression using the Z6 head gasket. Not...

    throttle body/intake

i dont' see why it would be an issue. They're both d-series parts, just different OBD electronics. It *should* work, but don't qoute me on it. There probably isn't that great of a difference in manifolds between the Y8 and A6, both cam off of 1.6L's and should both have really good flow. So...

    D16Z6

really thin Cometic headgasket: $75 ZEX comp cam 59300: $250 Springs and retainers (optional): $360 Intake manifold: $150-300 these should give you a nice boost in power. Up the compression and increase the flow :D , you'll be happy then. And you're revlimit changed to 7600rpm when you changed...

    civic hatch

my friend had this on his baby blue hatch and it looked really nice, seemed to me like it was one of those kits where i thought it looked weird but then it won me over. :D

    B-series Rods in a D15

Budget minded but also just curious. I'm pretty sure it's the LS rods that work but i know that one end has to be machined to fit on the D crank. New rods are like $400+ while i could probably get these LS rods for like $50 and have them machined. They would give a little more peace of mind too...

    Apexi PS exhaust

Just flipping through the April edition of SuperStreet and saw an ad for their new exhaust line, the PS. Thought it was some pretty inovative stuff. For those who haven't seen it, the muffler uses exhaust pressure to regulate a valve that will allow more/less flow. At low rpms, and low throttle...

    B-series Rods in a D15

i found info on this swap a long time ago and since then the only site that i know of that had it, was deleted. Anyone have any info regarding how to make these fit in the D block and which parts need to be machined? I know it can be done, but i'm just getting sick of playing marco-polo with the...

    d15 mini-me ?s

I've seen varied Dynos, but they typically are around 120hp at the wheels with I/H/E combo on them. For the money it takes to do this swap, the gains can't be beat. $200 for the head and between $50-150 for the ecu and various other parts put you in at around $500-600. Remeber though, your...

    d15 mini-me ?s

if you're running the P28 ecu (can't use the CX one), then you're rev limit is changed to 7600rpm. The cam options available for the head are many. Zex, Crower, Skunk2, you name it. www.hadamotorsport.com has a great tech section that compares SOHC cams, check them out! They have dyno charts...
