Why not just get a 96 civic hx? It also is comes with the VTEC-E which has more power than the older version of the VTEC-E. I don't understand why you would want the 3 stage vtec. If you are looking to save gas with the 96-00 civics go with the HX model.

If you use the Z6 head, you need to do a bit of modification to the dist, along with removing the Oil Jet out of the b6 block. Otherwise VTEC will not activate due to lack of oil pressure, the Z6 head has one built into it already.
I replaced my tranny and put some gear fluid in and now when I put it in gear it doesnt move and just revs up... There is a noise coming from the tranny sounds like the gears are spinning ... i drained some out from the drain plug on the bottom and I am still having this problem is there still...
Yes, It was a cable tranny and I converted it to hydro. Its all set it works fine. But I am having a problem with the car sputtering when given gas see my other thread thanks.

My car dies out when in gear and I try giving it gas. It will idle real low like it wants to die and not move. When I have the car in N and rev it up it wont die but it wont rev up smooth like it should. What could cause this problem? I am puzzled on what this could be...
