well if its not the wiring then more than likely something in the distributor. like the cam/crank angle sensor. but you never know it could be a wiring problem. with them getting wet you never know when a wire is gonna short out. happens all the time on swapped cars
sounds like a wiring problem. more specifically the crank/cam sensor wiring crossed causing the timing to severely retard or possibly the tps wires were not swapped around either way it sounds like a simple fix with a little rewiring. you should be able to get all the wiring info you need for...
if he did do a swap there may have been some re wiring done as there usually is! so i would check over all the wiring including at the ECU if all the splices are not soldered theres a good chance your sputtering could be from that. also definitely check the ground wire on the thermostat housing...
did you possibly get your plug wires mixed up? that is if you removed them from the cap. did you have this code or check engine light on before replacing the distributor? if so most likely need to reset the ECU if you didn't. let me know the answers to these questions then we can go from there...
we are gonna need some more info. what swap did you do? that would be a good start. but it could be a number of things and you will just have to go down the list and check things out to narrow the problem down until you figure it out. checking for ecu codes would be a good start. checking fuel...
There pretty good wires & will last as long as any good set of wires will last. im not gonna say there the best cuz i know you can spend less and get the same performance so its really if you wanna spend that kind of money or not!
i would like to see some pictures of this clearance problem if you can. ive done my share of turbos and have yet to run into this problem even with "ebay kits"
line up the white mark on your crank with the marker on the timing cover. the cams say up on them so both should be pointing straight up and the inside middle notches lined up together pretty simple!
