k so im doin a n/a d16y8 in a 90 si hatch.... flame if u want lol... anyways had my blocked honed an found out there was some rust pits in it so they bored it .20 over an there some still there.. so i said do it .40 over...am i gonna be safe? should i use a block guard? im gonna use p29...
it dependss if u want vtec or not... but if u wanting a gsr motor than get one an put it on a stand an build it for whatever u want... patience is a big key in building a motor i found that out the hard way so just take ur time an dont rush it
uhh dont listen to him...^^^^ there is more than to just slapping on a VTEC head... id say get another block an build it for whatever u want.. n/a or boost that way u dont have any down time since u just bought it.. ls motors r great for turbo but its also about what ur budget is an everything...

ya it would still idle fine with the crower cam its only a stage 1 if the pistons r a no go then take the head an get it shaved like 30 thousands.... u should be fine with that
if u can get the part number from acura honda can order them.. atleast thats what they do here but i know the people in the parts department u can give it a shot... r closest acura dealership is like 2 hrs away lol...

hmmm... do u have the gsr head bolts?... or even ls head bolts would work... whats wrong with the head u have now... b16 heads r so much better than gsr heads.. b16 head r just like type r heads same casting cuz different parts..
then id get a complete turbo kit an find a gsr motor an put in eagle rods an low comp. pistons a good clutch head studs for sure....... injectors fuel pump etc... then get it tuned dont run it with out getting it tuned....u could prolly do that all with about spending 5k??? depending on the...
ive actually met the guy who drives the insight at battle of the imports... hes a pretty cool guy an the insight isnt even vtec thats the crazy thing... i guess he makes a cam the hits so hard people think its vtec but its really not...
pretty much depends on ur budget if u go aftermartket or oem... an how much psi u wanna run... if u wana be quicker than anyone around u i think ur gona need a lil more than 200hp who knows tho i dont know the cars around u... what i would do is find ur self another b18 block build that for...
to answer ur question on if u can pretty much re use ur head gasket once u change ur studs/bolts... no u cat its all ready been pressed together u can use it but u will leak even worse than what u r right now... id say spend the 40 bucks an get a new one... an be done in like an hr....
ok so then explain this to me then i converted my 90 si to obd1 an if im throwing a code all i gotta do is turn it to the on position an it flashes the code for me... no jumper wire needed there is not a place for the jumper wire like the obd1 cars.... so what im tryin to say that if his is...
what i would do is get p29 pistons it will bump ur compression pretty good an a crower stage 1 cam....unless they do compression checks an stuff then the pistons wouldnt be a good idea..
