This nut is a pain to get off..

I used a short section of pipe that was larger than my breaker bar and a long section of pipe that fit in the big pipe. So, it went breaker bar, larger pipe over breaker bar, small pipe inside larger pipe. Go steal a fence post if you have to.

    Civic SOHC in a Yugo?

Is there really any advantage to cable trans though? I'm not trying to argue, but I'd rather not buy another trans unless I have to. Or could I convert the hydro trans to cable? I would need another cable anyway, since the Honda trans sits on the passenger side instead of the driver's side like...

    Civic SOHC in a Yugo?

I am likely coming into possession of a 1986 Yugo GVX. The "sport" model with a 1300cc engine and 5 speed trans. The engine is a piece of junk from sitting outside, and it only made like 54hp to begin with. So my brother wants to see a Honda engine swapped in. Would the effort of converting...

    Exhaust Ideas?

I believe methanol injection is to prevent detonation or keep the temps lower. Either way, I don't think it really has a use in an NA engine unless it's pretty high compression.

Ok so I had a DA now I have a DC

Yes I read it, and yes I'm aware of the ways of criminals. Name me a security device, and I'll find a way to circumvent it. Heck, offhand I can tell you that the locks on garages can be ripped off in under 5 seconds with a claw hammer. One idea I've had is to cement a steel post into the...

    I guess it wasn't that important....sorry.

    Is it salvagable?

The interior looks like crap and they cobbled up the wiring. Unless you can get it for under $2000, don't bother. I would only go that high because you can't find Integras around here, and if you do, the bodys are shot. $2000 would maybe be enough to get all the sheet metal for a car around here...

Ok so I had a DA now I have a DC

There are too many Hondas being stolen. Until we all start securing our cars, it's not going to end. Lock picking is too easy and nobody pays attention to alarms. We all need to figure our shit out.

    p28 with jdm d15b?

Ok, the D,B,K...15,16,17, etc at the beginning is straight forward. There is no certain designation in an engines code that says if it's VTec or not though. Then there are two D15B engines. If they had it more like D15V3 for the 3 stage VTec engine, and D15V for the engine that's essentially...

    p28 with jdm d15b?

Alright. Honda needs to have a better system for naming it's engines.

Wiring 3 stage VTec in an EG and a P28 ECU.

Indeed, it would be for the fuel economy. Plus having the second stage, it should make plenty of power for just putting around and regular daily driving. Most likely I'll end up selling the car after swapping it, since the current engine burns a quart of oil every 80 miles. When I get on the...

Wiring 3 stage VTec in an EG and a P28 ECU.

I know that Honda has 3 stage VTec, that's what this D15B has. It has the two solenoids. The only thing is the engine is a Jap import. There isn't an American OBD1 ECU to control both solenoids on the head. Switching to OBD2 would allow use of a different ECU, but I want to keep OBD1.

Wiring 3 stage VTec in an EG and a P28 ECU.

I would want to do this to have 3 stage VTec. There aren't ECUs for OBD 1 cars that will control it, so this is more a last resort type affair. Honda wouldn't do this, that's for sure. But I haven't seen any other ways.

    p28 with jdm d15b?

We are talking about the D15B with two VTec solenoids, right? I'm looking at the same picture. I made another post proposing a possible solution. I don't want to hi-jack this thread, so just go here for any comments/concerns with this...

Wiring 3 stage VTec in an EG and a P28 ECU.

I think I came up with a way to have true 3 stage VTec here in America, with a USDM ECU. Have the solenoid activating the "wild cam" controlled by the ECU. That's easy. Then for the "econo" solenoid, have it controlled by one of these. MSD Ignition RPM Activated Switch Any RPM controller would...

    exhaust question (easy)

What part of the exhaust? the manifold and downpipe from 1992-1995 if different from a 1996-00. If it's a matter of going from a coupe to a hatch of the same generation, even if it doesn't fit, there's always a hacksaw, clamps and extra fittings/pipe. Harbor freight has tubing expanders for...

You could try eBay. There are some manual trannys on there. I think there might even be some in Chicago, to save on shipping.

I have a shortblock and a head without a dizzy, but no tranny. It came out of a low mileage 98 EX. I'm located about 3 1/2 hours South West of you in the Quad Cities. email me at timbabeu2005@yahoo.com if you're interested.

    D15B7parts on a D16Y8? OBD 1 to 2 engine swap

I'm dropping a D16Y8 into a 1994 Civic LX. The engine I bought did not come with an alternator, and I'm planning to convert the D16Y8 to OBD1. Will the alternator from the B7 PHYSICALLY work on the Y8 block if I have all the right pulleys? A/C and power steering aren't important to me, so I'll...

Question about OBD 2 D16Y8 in a 1994 Civic LX

I have a 1994 Civic LX with a manual transmission. Today I purchased a D16Y8 from a 1998 Civic EX. Can I put my distributor, alternator, fuel rail, exhaust manifold and wiring harness from the D15B7, or do I need to buy all new parts? I'm converting down to OBD1, by the way. I'll be chipping...
