02 Sensor Heater Malfunction

Hey guy's,
I recently threw a code which turned out to be the 02 sensor heater. Now im still driving around like normal but under heavy acceleration, my engine hesitates sometimes. Only for a second, but you can definately feel it. Will throwing this code mess with my air/fuel ratio at all? I'm not getting black smoke or anything out my exhaust so I'm not running rich.... I dunno, what do you guys think?

the heater is only used when you first turn on your car to warm the o2 up to its working temp to get a more accurate reading while the car is cold.

Seems I have another issue to deal with here....
