I'd rather have a 5 year old evo or....well evo. For some reason I LOVE the look of the 2015 Sti, but I still can't stand the engine warble.

If I had held onto it for another year I probably would have sold the AMG and just gone back to driving the Evo daily. loli wish you held it just a year or so longer, i probably would have bought it. i keep thinking about buying an Evo or Subaru and turning it into a track/rally car.

Parted out, all that is left are some valve covers, a sparco seat and the non-rolling shell.haha fair enough. what did you end up doing with the del sol? you still have the ad in your signature.
You spelled Mitsubishi Evo all wrong in your entire post...i'd say it's a smart move. I mean, Subaru does it best IMO with the AWD so for another manufacture to introduce it doesn't impress me.
price is stil rediculous for what i would consider to offer less than a 35k Sti.
Also, trans stil needs to prove itself.
And while all the Ken Block nut suckers are getting excited Subaru is mostly likely already working on the new Sti engine to top it. lol.
With the WRX 2.0 twinscroll setup and fuel setup i'm excited to see how they can incorporate that into the EJ25 of the Sti.
In conclusion, good for Ford but for the money I'll take a proven Sti anyday.
The problem with that is the trans. The trans in the WRX can't reliably hold big HP guys have broken them in the 300-350hp range. Where with the STi trans there's guys putting down 500+ on the stock STi trans. Costs about $5k to get the STI trans into a WRX.
Brakes are another part of the story. It'll cost you at least 1000 to get the STi brembos into your WRX. And that's the low end. Probably closer to 1500-2000 with all 4 calipers/rotors/pads.
