I need help trying to find out how to and what to do to swap my h23a1 to my f23a1 and how to put my h23a1 distributor on my f23a1?
Welcome to Hondaswap! This topic was started to address a different question, but feel free to click the "start new topic" button and ask away! To answer your question, the f23 and H23 are different blocks. The distributor matches the head, so assuming you are wanting to put the H23 head on the F23 bottom end, the distributor from the H23 head would follow it over, hypothetically. But first, let me point out something very important:
1) The H23 is an OBD I engine, and your F23 is OBDII, so you would be looking at needing to change the ECU and harness, and buy an OBD adapter.
2) H23 output- 160HP. F23 output- 150HP.
So, you would be bending your ass over backwards spending hundreds on parts and gaskets, not to mention countless hours, all to gain 10 HP. I have a better plan: A header lol. Seriously, leave that F23 where it's at and buy a cold ait intake, header, and cat back exhaust system on ebay. All of that will be less than $500 if you buy by lowest price, and that should land you 10-20HP. Then if you really want to make some more power, buy a cam and install it, and do your timing belt, water pump, and seals while you're in there. Then, if you still need a little more power, look into ECU tuning. All of that is less of a PITA than swapping, and you could end up with around 190HP if you really bought good modding parts and forked out money for tuning.
However if you are made of money and a glutton for punishment, but an H22A4 and the Harness and ECU and put it in, you'll be making 190HP overnight, but at a cost of $1000+. Your call, but if I had an F23 I'd swap for an H22 or tune it, not swap over a head to pick up 10hp.
