99 civic ex w/d16y8 vtec to d16y7 w/o vtec help

i need to know how to convert my wire harness from vtec to non-vtec. like a step by step guide please

from VTEC to non-VTEC:

step 1 - dont plug the VTEC plug in to anything
step 1.5 - consider wrapping the unused VTEC plug up out of the way so it does not get dirty or end up in the way
