no just the 10 head bolts. there also isnt any other metal piece you have to remove. make sure everything is disconnected and if it doesnt just pull off youll have to pry the head up with a screw driver or something of the sort
alright cuz my uncle said there is a plate thing that holds the intake mani on (like it supports the back of it) is there?????
.. probably the bracket supporting the IM
Screwdriver? Are you kidding me? That could damage the head and/or the block which could cause some major headaches later.
Try using a rubber mallet to loosen the head. They have little alignment sleeves in the block to align the head. These sleeves can get sticky when you try to pull the head off. If you're gonna pry on anything, pry on the outer cast of the head where there is no gasket contacting it but only do this as a last resort. Never stick anything between the head and the block and pry with it.
yeah a screwdriver. read the repair manual it even tells you to! and i didnt mean between the head and block. pry from the power steering bracket and block. but if you forgot about the bracket on the im id say thats the culprit
The intake manifold will come off with the head. The thing holding you back is the bracket between the intake manifold and the block. It has 4 12mm bolts in it. You can see it from underneath the car and on top too if you look around.so i have to take the intake manifold off to get the head off??????? i didnt think it would be a problem i thought it would just come right off with the head.
