And they always have a way to squirm out of paying out. Case in point:
My folks have all of their insurance through the same guy, Home Owners, Auto, you name it. My youngest brother's '91 Civic Sedan was on that plan with full coverage. His car was broken into one night. The thieves broke out the back window, tore up the back seat to get at his amp, tore apart the center front console to steal the deac (it had no face plate), and they stole a large book of CDs. Over all it was well above the $500 deductable that my parents were carrying on that car, how much did the insurance company cover? $0. They had been paying for full coverage for 18 months on that car and the insurance agency wouldn't pay a dime. I forget how they "justified" not paying for the damage to the car or the missing stereo equiptment (my brother kept all his reciepts) but they told him that he could not prove that he owned the CD's so they wouldn't pay for it. They obviously didn't count the ~70 empty jewel cases with the album art as proof. :roll:

Cliffs: Don't pay for more insurance than you absolutely have to carry because the insurance company isn't going to come through for you when you need it.
