any know what a code 17 is?

i have a chipped p28 in a 92 hatch with a b16, i am throwing a code 17 anyone know what that code is?

Check Hondata's Website for the ecu error codes.

You are throwing code 17 which is VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor).

thank you, thats what i thought it was, will that give a default to the ecu and make vtec not work?

not so sure about that, but I think it has something to do with vtec. cause if i have my car in neutral, and I am not rolling, the engine will not engage in vtec. So, since your speed sensor aint working, the computer may not engage vtec. I am not sure tho, but from my experiences, vtec don't kick in unless im rolling. I know cause I hooked up a vtec light to run everytime vtec kicked in. Hope that helps.

easy sensor to change! go to honda dealership and get a speed sensor and then it is the sensor in the top of tranny, under air intake tube. it is 3 bolts. 10 min tops to change. V-tec shouldn't engage until sensor is good.

ok thanx, i am trying to find a sensor, they list for like 300 hundred and im not paying that ill find one somewhere else
