i was reading popular science lastnight and the magazine said three major companies that make big LCD tv's are opening new factories, so a $2800 tv should drop below $2000 by fall...

god i need a new tv...

poll:

plasma or LCD?

LCD, Plasma only lasts for 3 years and then you have to buy a new one.

maybe a plasma built in 2001..... stupid internet rumors frmo people who don't know anything about tv's.

most plasmas built in 2004 have HIGHER life expectnacy than a comparable lcd.

DLP for the win.
best picture, best price.

lcd tends to be dark and slow to react to fast action.
plasma is very bright, but prone to burn in.

dlp is the best of both worlds, and its lights and chips are easily replacable if they break.

Apprantly you haven't heard of tigerdirect.com ...they have 42" plasmas for 1500 bucks or less

EDTV doesn't count.... those things suck and aren't worth the money you pay for them.

the picture is shitty. the only reason why they sell is because "they look cool" cuz they're thin.

and then you don't have the hd tuner.... add 600 bucks when you want one.

hd built-in.
720p at the bare minimum. 768p better, 1080p for the win.

remember, 1080i is acutally LESS than 720p, as its a line doubling... so its really 540p
