I've just completed my first valve adjustment on a B16A motor. Because the valves are so deeply recessed my regular feeler gauges and wrenches wouldn't work. Since I'm cheap I didn't want to spend a lot of money.

I got Brass feeler gauges from McMaster Carr for about a buck a piece, 0.006, 0.007 and 0.008 thickness. (0.006 to 0.007 intake, 0.007 to 0.008 exhaust) This worked well because you can bend them, unlike the carbon steel ones which are brittle and break.

For the wrench I bought a 10mm deep socket and welded a 5/8's wrench to it. This worked OK but was just a bit short. If I did it again I would buy a smaller wrench and weld it to the very top.

All together tools cost about $9.00.
