i have a 96 civic dx hb. From what ive herd the b16a2 swap and the B18c1 are about equal as far as install goes, but im wondering if the b18c1 is really worth the extra money for the engine. Keep in mind i will probobly mod the engine a bit and eventually get a turbo.

Some will say yes, some will say no.I'd get one,but already have a B16A2,so I am not motivated enough to spend the difference.

if you get a 96-99 gsr, it will be easier to install than the b16a2.

teg's didn't go to obd2b until 2000, but the civic si is 2b in 1999

don't forget that the B16A2 did come in the 96-97 Del Sol's as well. and they are OBD2.

If you're on a budget = b16

I would start off with a b18c, it's a good all around motor to start off with. Whether you want to go n/a or turbo. You have a good platform to start off with with the b18c. Although the cheaper route would be the b16a, which is a great platform to start off with as well.

u just need to compare torque vs. cash..... not a ton of difference on HP, but the 18c has more torque..

depends on what you want in the end from the engine. Street car? drag car? na? turbo?

Prolly just a street car. Lookin to spank my friends 02' SI B) But yeah i think id rather just work a month or so more to afford the b18C. the extra torque would be nice on a light car, thanks for your replies tho.
