the k20a2 motor was not meant for 87, it needs 93 or better
witch the k20a2 is,,it really dont say 93 but right on the gas lid its self says premium gas onlyNot in New Jersey
You say 93 or better... The service manual will "suggest" 93 octane, but it is purely dependent on the weather. Using a winter grade gasoline in warmer ambient temperatures (I.E. summer), will cause carbon to build up on the intake valves. This is usually a sympton when hesitation is noticed when accelerating from a stop.
Higher octane fuel is only needed for higher compression engines or high output engines, period.
