ok i have an 88 rex hf with a dohc zc that is burning oil bad .i cant find pistons for this engine but the bore and stroke for the 1.6 si is the same will theese pistons work in the dohc zc what about the rods are the the same?

:werd:

Use the pistons out of the D16A engines. You can use the CRX Si pistons and rods, but the compression will be quite a bit lower.

I wanted to say something........darn you guys.

YEAH YOU CAN DO IT BUT THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS........

I dunno, thats all i got. Cal and hcivic kinda said it all.

Well, usually if you're burning oil, the pistons should still be ok. Just check your rings and all your seals- replace those and you'll most likely be fine. There shouldn't be any reason to replace the pistons unless they're damaged.

well it would burn oil if they were hitting the walls wouldnt it?

If youve already taken the head off and checked the pistons, then you have your answer. If not id follow calesta's advice. The old motor could probably use seals anyway.

Not necessarily... but if the pistons are hitting the walls and not just sliding against them, you have some serious problems.
