d16y8 harness on B16a2 question

Ok, W have hooked up the harness so that it will plug into the car properly, and the d6y8 harness DID have a knock sensor hook up. The only difference between the harnesses was that the crank sensor on the Y8 harness is a 3 wire with 2 of the wires being the same color (brown/black I think) and the B16 sensor is a 2 wire How do I get the Y8 harness to work with the 2 wire sensor on the b16? Just hook up one of the wires or run them together?
