delayed spark

i have a 93 accord fully stock and for some reason is taking a while to get spark what could be the cause

my check engine light is on and gave me error code 8 which is
TDC Sensor (bad or unplugged)

could the problems be related?

NOTE: the car has new plugs, wires, cap and rotor and the problem was before installing the new parts

TDC sensor is located inside your distributor and likely has failed. I would suggest replacing the entire distributor assy. as a whole due to the age of your car because the rest of the sensors/bearings may also go bad.
