The seller just linked to the guy who was hosting the picture of the legitimate headlights. The legitimate guy saw this in his server logs and decided to change the picture the ebay guy was linking to to stop him from scamming. :)

:woo: serves people like him right- i just got scammed on ebay over a very similar deal- it used to be an honest market place, now it just seems like another cesspool for scammers

ATTENTION WEB-PEOPLE.....

how can I find out who (if anyone) is linking my pictures? I upload around 100 pictures to the net for my ebay auctions every week.

im sure there is a way, im just too lazy and stupid to figure it out :D

:withstupid:

Essentially what happened is the guy who started the auction was too lazy, or too cheap to buy a digital camera for his pictures.

he went on some other guy's website, took the url of the pictures (www.blahblahblah.com/headlights.jpg) and linked them to his auction.

this in itself steals bandwith from the guy whose website the picture is on. The more people who look at the auction, the more bandwith is used up on the guy who pictures were stolen website.

The guy whose pictures were "linked" by the ebay auction, took one picture offline, created some sort of text file, then re-uploaded it, so instead of the Ebay auction showing a headlight, it would show the linked text file (converted into a .jpg) as the ownage.

someone explain it better than me....

ebay is horrible now...

its the number one online place to sell shyt alright... shyt u dont have

There is a new company in southern california that is advertising their "ebay" services on billboards on the freeways...

I think it goes something like this:

<<i forgot the name of the company, but it goes here>>

YOU BRING IT IN, WE SELL IT ON EBAY

so basically you take whatever it is you got to sell, and drop it off at their offices, and they list it on fee-bay, and charge you even more money...

who was the idiot that thought of that idea?
