the piston pins are pressed into the rod - you need to have them pressed out

Preferably using the "Honda tool" although using an assortment of steel sockets would work if the mechanic is careful. Refer to the Helms manual*
 
Sometimes you can take a small propane torch and heat the small end. This will cause the opening to open up a little more and allow the wrist pin to come out. Just keep the heat off the piston.
 
I'm pretty sure it'll take more heat than that. I bought a set of pistons where some guy obviously tried to do that(rods had burn marks all over the PE ends).
 
take them to a machine shop.

That is your best bet. A machine shop should be able to press the new pistons on for a reasonable price. That way you dont have to worry about damaging anything.
