how do i determine thread pitch?

I have a skunk2 short shifter and I need to figure out the thread pitch on it to put on a custom shift knob. How do I figure this out?

they make thread pitch gauges....

or you could go the hardware store and figure something out

Ok, thank you. I was flipping through a magazine the other day and found an authentic WWII pineapple hand grenade shift knob and needed an adapter. I thought it would be kinda cool. Thanks.
