hp gains built head

ive been wanting to build my head for a while. its a b16a2 in a sol
i was thinking full valve train cams blah blah blah

i told my friend abot this and he said that i wouldnt make shit for horsepower!!!
i really dont believe this and am thinking that i would make about 20-30 whp from my plans

i know it will cost alot of money and it would be more efficient but i am really into making power na. not that theres nething wrong with boost

so my question is waht kind of gains can i expect

It really depends on how much power you're expecting to make and how much money you want to spend. You can definitely make a lot of power NA, but you're going to have to upgrade the pistons to raise your compression ratio in order to take advantage of the really higher powered cams. You could see some significant gains from a cam in the Skunk2 stage 2 range, but anything much more aggressive than that will require your compression to be higher. However, I think you can probably make close to 20 HP with the Skunk stage 2's, cam gears, and some tuning.
