So I'm sheeting a roof today. 3/12 pitch on a 2nd story, over a 1st story with a similar 3/12 pitch. Lots of frost on the white wood we just hung. I'm wearing my skate shoes, as they're ideal for walking on plywood, but there is no ply wood yet, just the white wood. As I'm leaning over to shoot the first piece of pretty board(yeah he skimped hella), I lost my footing.
I ended up falling off the roof, hit a parapit wall on the lower roof, spun around and landed on my face at the bottom. Yeah I got up immediately. Gasped for wind once or twice, and I guess I grabbed my hat and collected myself for like 2 seconds. Went back to work. Or atleast that's what I remember. No I didn't hit my head, or atleast I don't remember doing so.
As this happened, the co-worker heard me scream, hit then hit again. He is looking for me, and well he found me under the bottom eve, and I was punching the ground when he first saw me. My head didn't touch a thing, as I can tell.
But now my back is fucking killing me. I can't breathe for shit, and 11/hr cash is not worth this. I want a fucking raise.
20 minutes later, I'm carrying a few sheet, and step on the pre-existing roof that was hung a few days ago, and the plywood seemed a bit bouncy. too bouncy. I found myself arm pit deep in plywood hanging in another roof.
I'm so accident prone its unbelievable.
Earlier this week, we're setting I-Beams on another house. I'm prying on this bar with my hammer, but from my angle it didn't want to go. It's real close to me, so this other guy takes out his forged stilleto and starts beating it at me. Sure enough he fucking hit me in the forehead. Didn't knock me out, but shit I saw stars I guess and I was throbbing in a few hours. Yeah didn't slow me down, 5 minutes later I was lifting the I-Beam.
[/end rant of constuction dangers]
I just wanted to get this on paper because a lot of shit is going through my head, and 3 accidents in one week is bad, especially for doing this aside from going to schol.
