Does anyone know if it is ok for a car to idle at 1500 rpms once it is warmed up? I am running 11:1 compression. Arias pistons. B20b block and B16 head w/ vtec? When it starts it idles at 900-1000, but when it warms up it idles at 1500.

-your idle might be set too high. i don't think it would be idling high if there was a vaccum leak...i think the idle drops.
-i think you can adjust the idle on your car. there should be a screw on the throttle body that you can adjust.
-also, check your timing.

when you have a leak, it will idle high, think about it, the leak is letting more air into the manifold, therefore the idle would go up.

would it only go up though after the car is warmed up or right at the start? When the car has been sitting there and i start it. It idles at 900-1000. Then i warm it up and drive it (still idles around 1000) then once it is fully warmed up it idles at like 1500 when in netral at stop lights and signs.

oh yeah...no shit.

I can not find the idles screw? I see one on the side of the TB towards the firwall. It is a flathead. If I adjust this or the timing then the car will not start. It just cranks starts and dies. If it had a leak, wouldn't the car idle high all the time, right when i started it? It only idles high once its warmed up and i drive it around for a bit. Is it ok though to have an idle at 1500? How can i check for a leak?
