CTR pistons considering they fit the B16 rods with no modification. And they will yeild higher compression

I would definatly go with the CTR pistons.
I believe that B18C rods don't need to be modified however B16 rods do need some modification.

It's the other way around.
LS/B16 Rods can take LS/B16/CTR pistons with no modification
GSR/ITR rods can take GSR/ITR pistons with no modification.
