im looking into getting my ecu chipped. this guy is willing to do it but he was telling me he would have to disable my knock sensor. Should i go with this one? What does this knock sensor do? I figure its there for a reason and i shouldnt get it disabled but just checking anyways

Knock sensors "listen" to the motor for signs of detonation, they relay their findings to the ECU that retards timing if it is told that the motor is detonating.

are you getting it dyno tuned? if some guy in his mom's basement is just blind writing you a "chip" then you will likely be totally off base and be detonating like a mofo.
