Ok first off i just got this car so i have no idea what was done to it internally.This isnt my first b-series but is my first ls/vtec. I was thinking to clean out the vtec solenoid , change the plugs , but need further advice. The kid went to jail and nobody knows anything about the engine , All i know is i have a B18A1 block on a B16a head ( 1989) . Car has buddy club cam gears but i have to look to tell you guys what timing setting they are on . I think he was shooting NOS cause the fuel line is spliced where you would T line in for your Wet setup. Car feels slow not like my all motor gsr i had before . Vtec works but not all the time , going through turns it cuts off and somtimes its sparatic . The motor at idle stays steady at about 800 and doesnt go up and down dramaticaly like some ls/vtecs. Any ideas on what to look for , in terms of fixing the vtec ? And how can i tell if it was setup for NOS ? the ignition timing ? or can a compression test tell me thanks for your help guys btw car is a 1994 civic vx hatchback with a clean tittle , picked it up for 4,500 think that i got a fair deal ?
