Manual rear brake bias valve install question

Is anyone running a manual rear brake bias valve (proportioning valve)? If so, did you replace the stock valve with tee fittings for the front brake lines?

I've heard some bad stories about these things. What are you trying to achieve? there's other set ups from other cars that might work, like 3040 vs 4040 vs 4030's that exist
