Mix&Match Blocks and Heads

Is there any difference between a D16A6 block and a D16Y8, or any other D-series block for that matter? Could I put a DOHC ZC head on either one?

Yes you can mix and match any SOHC head. The DOHC head only work on the DOHC block.

why would you want a zc head instead of a y8?

turbo application? think dohc is cooler? or rocked your stock y8 and have a zc sitting around?
