The WMD conflict was a sordid tale across the board. No one knew what to think about it. Saddam Hussein made a direct threat to US soil with an attack. Weapons Inspectors said "No, we haven't found any WMD here."

Powell urged the UN and Weapons Inspectors to double their efforts of searching - Even (in an unprecendented move) loaning US Spy satellite equipment from NORAD to the UN officers (Who were mostly French). With the new bits of technology Inspectors said "Ok, we believe he is moving the weapons behind our backs, staying one step ahead of us" (Hans Blix) Finally, nothing turns up.

During this time not only Republicans, but the whole WORLD was on a rollercoaster ride of anxiety and relief. Still is. MANY people said things back then, only to later take statements back. Powell, Blix, Bush, Chirac, Rumsfeld, Rice. The Democrats ALSO did this - But remember that democratic (Or left-wing) outcry against the aggressive strikes in Iraq were NOT politicians !

The Left Wing allowed actors and celebrities to come forth and speak out - That way keeping their own positions "in the air" until there was resolution. Democratic National Convention spent millions flying celebrities across the country and world to speak out left-wing propaganda only to set THE CELEBRITY up for rebound effects. Very few politicians actually spoke up against the war in those terms. Gore and the Clinton camp, every California GOP, and the liberal controlled media were the most outspoken anti-war officials during the past 3 years.

Donald Rumsfeld, make no mistake, is quite possibly the Anti-Christ. He's setting up a martial government by the fucking book and that book happens to be Mein Kampf. His rise to power is very close to that of Adolf Hitler.

But, I take a step back and think of what would happen if someone else were in his position. Kennedies, FEMA Chairman, Billary Clinton, even (and god forbid) Joseph Lieberman. God forbid if any of those people were granted any kind of power.

What we're seeing here is a failure of the Constitution. One branch of government has outgrown their check and balance guarantee and now are poised to take over the whole show.

And it's time we put an end to it.

But don't think that because he got backed into a corner that he's a fool, that he was wrong, or that there is someone else that is better for the role. (Moveon.org has flat-out stated that Wesley Clark should be in the role of National Security Advisor)
