I own a Jack Russell and a log haired chihuahua, and lived for six months with 2 pitbulls that my old roommate owned. I never had a sinlge problem with them. Pitbulls just needed to be treated with kid gloves, that's all. They are very protective dogs, like a lot of dogs, but unlike a lot of other dogs, they have the ability to follow through with their bark.

huskies are far worse for that "kid gloves" thing. Those little fuckers eye-lock with you at any moment and you see their blood pressure go up.
