I am trying to sell a hydro tranny and people are asking for shipping quotes and i have no idea who or what company to use to ship it. I figure it weighs 120lbs or so and that way over ups's standard shipping weight. Anyone have any ideas of a good cheap shipping company in the north east? Also most places ask for a "class" anyone know what a tranny would fall under? Thanks for any help

thats over ups? when i sold my b16 head along with alot of other parts i thought it was well over 100 pounds. i did bring it to the ups store though.

ye ai do shipping/recieving at work with ups and the physical size of the tranny will be an issue and that it has to be in a card borad type box.

i've shipped 2 tranny's through fed ex in double-stacked cardboard boxes. its about 85 bucks ground close by and about 125 across the nation

UPS Will ship oversize, you just pay an extra fee. Just pack it really good. AND PUT HEAVY STICKERS ALL OVER IT! Be nice to your UPS MAN!

There was a post on honda-tech awhile back...about a guy that built a box for shipping his motor out... Go search for it... The guy spent more time building the box they the machine shop did building the motor! LOL!

yeah, UPS...

we do it all the time at work (ship 5 speeds through them)

yeah, I'm using UPS to ship Blanco the tranny he's gonna buy from me, the website quoted me $31.20. but that's because I put the tranny weighed 70lbs....

most expensive packaging ever. lol

ive shipped a tranny before, put a 1/2" thick peice of plywood on the bottom for support, placed the trany in and filled with packing material (anything you want will work, i used whatever i had laying around) i shipped it DHL and it only cost me 50 bucks to ship halfway across the country. fuck UPS and FedEx, they are overpriced.

And I'm a fair man, bro'. :)
30 bucks, from CA to CA. thats not overpriced. and i bet it still takes 5 days to get there, lol. DHL will ship up and down the coast in one day, and thats regular ground service.
