Hello. I have a 1998 dc1 with a d16 zc non-vtec.recently the crankshaft and my number 1 con rod got damage due to a seized bearing. I have a donor civic that has a d16y4. My idea was to use the bottom block of the d16y4 and put the zc head on top and use the same gearbox. I’ve read that the d16y4 uses a different gearbox to the zc, so instead do I have to swap crankshaft and pistons over from the d16y4 to my zc block. Ideally I would like to use the parts I have and happy to do the labour. Does anyone know that this will work?

There's a bunch of zc variants. some might work, some won't. we'd need more exact details. (We didn't get those here in the states)

generally, the single cam zc's are more close to the d16 family that the dual cam versions.
