the question is this i want to boost performance and save some dough i have heard that i can regrind my camshaft, shave weight off my flywheel, port and polish the intake manifold and pistons
however i do not know how this is done and what everything accoplishes.
also what else is there that can be tinkered with some one said take screws of some sort off your connecting rods
please info and CORRECT education

first what motor do you have?

i think as far as the best bang for your buck you need three things.

1 raise your compression (high compression pistons and or shaved head)
2 port and polish the intake and exhaust ports in the head
3 more aggressive cam or cams

yes a good rule of thumb, to make ur car a bit faster, shave 20thousands off the head, use a 2 layer head gasket. u can get your cam ground for good HP gains, but it CAN kill your valvetrain if not done correctly. you can also advance ur timing with a cam gear for maximum results. also PnP is a good choice.
