Now when putting the B16 head on the LS block your supposed to bore out the guide pin holes for the B16 head Right? Well I was thinking, can't you just try and line the head up to the block without boring the holes? If so then all you would have to do is tap for the oil line. Tell me if this would work or not. Thanks :worthy:
 
that's a terrible idea.
just use the tried and tested way...
but good luck finding a drill bit that fits that whole.. its a crazy diameter.
 
the alignment dowels are there for a reason, they also help stablize the head so it doesn't twist at all.

are you talking about eliminating the steel feed line from the block to the head??
