I'm planning a long road trip in 26 or 27.
I want to drive by all the quirky stuff. The Cadillac's in the sand. The beaver cut outs on the side of the raod.

If you head west, take one of the old US highways instead of an interstate. One year I drove back from Rocky Mountain National Park and took US36. Cool drive and not that much extra time.

Also, anything around the Salton Sea is wild. Check out Slab City.
