I've been thinking about this for a while....
I drive a 1.4iS Civic. I wanted some more power, so I bought everything I needed to do a minime swap, including conversion harnesses, p28 with hondata s300, and gaskets, the whole nine yards and even shit I don't really need. Well, the problem is that I don't have the time, or the energy or the desire anymore to do a headswap. It makes me sad, but at the same time it makes me happier because my girlfriend absolutely depsises when I do stuff on my car, and if I were to do a headswap, she'd probably not talk to me for a few days (that's if she knew about it.) So, my dilemma:
Should I sell all my shit, or should I just plan time to do the swap? My car makes about 95HP right now (I had it dyno'd not too long ago, but I've put the stock intake back on) and with the swap I should make around 125-130. I've got everything I need to do the swap. I'm talking everything, just no time. Would it really "give my car new life" or give it a better feel? The thing I'm most concerned about now is fuel economy. I know that doing anything to increase performance will tip the FE scale, but would it be that big of a difference? I also don't want to lose OBD2, but since my car is european spec, it seems like I'll have to lose it, and along with it my ScanGauge. It looks like I'm not going to be going back to the US and A for a good many years, and if I do, I won't bring the car with me, so emissions don't have to factor into it.
Any advice?
