The SOHC ZC is just a D16A6 with a slightly more aggressive camshaft. The crank, pistons, rods and head casting are all the same. Now if you're talking about getting a D16Z6, you'll have the same performance level as the DOHC ZC- but with much better aftermarket support.

Yeah, it's pretty damn close. I would rather have a D16Z6 or Y8 in place of a DOHC ZC... it's easier to find parts for it, and you get the advantage of two intake lobe profiles on the cam. It's almost impossible to find DOHC ZC cams and cam gears, not to mention non-custom pistons or valvetrain gear.
