I removed my head from the dx block whilel looking at the headgasket to see that the number one piston(closest to the crank pulley) isn't sitting flush with the deck like the number 4 cylinder piston is? What does this mean?

I turn the crank pulley and I don't hear anything wrong, slight drag. Like normal. Its just sitting slightly lower then the number 4.

It all started when I poped a headgasket. Which I did. I need any ideas what this could be so that I can start looking for a dx block if I have to.

could be a bent rod. how much lower is it?

like just a tip of a pencil on the number one piston. This is at tdc. So 4 and 1 should be up at tdc while 3-2 should be bdc.

Number 1 at tdc sits like slighlty lower then 4.
